We have installed the software on our servers in a highly secure location. We install various other commonly used applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, other word processing and presentation software, spreadsheets, databases and accounting software on our servers. You need a computer and a high speed internet connection. You will decide on a login name and password, and you will be given a url to go to from which you can logon to our servers. You will see a desktop displaying exactly those applications which you are licensed to use.
This solution works well for smaller organizations who don't want to be bothered buying software, upgrading, and fixing problems relating to applications. Another huge advantage is that you can work from anywhere - home, a remote office, Outer Mongolia, anywhere there is an internet browser! The initial outlay is the cost of the licenses of the software you'll be using, plus the license fee for the application sharing software. However, if you've already purchased MSWord, for instance, then you wouldn't pay for another license. Each user gets his or her own space on our servers and with this solution, all your data is automatically backed up. There is a monthly fee based on number of users and how much usage is expected, but each individual case is different.
